electronic-paper

INTRODUCTION:
Electronic paper, e-paper or electronic ink display is a display technology designed to mimic the appearance of ordinary ink on paper. Unlike a conventional flat panel display, which uses a backlight to illuminate its pixels, electronic paper reflects light like ordinary paper. It is capable of holding text and images indefinitely without drawing electricity, while allowing the image to be changed later.
To build e-paper, several different technologies exist, some using plastic substrate and electronics so that the display is flexible. E-paper has the potential to be more comfortable to read than conventional displays. This is due to the stable image, which does not need to be refreshed constantly, the wider viewing angle, and the fact that it reflects ambient light rather than emitting its own light. An e-paper display can be read in direct sunlight without the image appearing to fade. The contrast ratio in available displays as of 2008 might be described as similar to that of newspaper, though newly-developed implementations are slightly better.  There is ongoing competition among manufacturers to provide full-color capability.

BENEFITS:
1)    E-paper is a display technology designed to mimic the appearance of ordinary ink on paper - even its flexibility- and according to new research, reading the news on e-paper is more environmentally friendly than viewing via PC.
2)    Developed to overcome the limitations of computer screens, e-paper reflects light like ordinary paper instead of using a backlight to illuminate pixels and is capable of holding text and images indefinitely without drawing electricity. This in turn means energy savings far beyond that of reading online instead of in print.
3)    The greatest burden on the environment for the paper version is the production of the paper, and in electronic format, the power consumption benefits of e-paper over computer screens come to the fore.

SHORTCOMINGS:
1)    Electronic paper technologies have a very low refresh rate comparing with other low-power display technologies, such as LCD.
2)    Another limitation is that an imprint of an image may be visible after refreshing parts of the screen. Those imprints are known as "ghost images", and the effect is known as "ghosting". This effect is reminiscent of screen burn-in,but, unlike it, is solved after the screen is refreshed several times. Turning every pixel white, then black, then white, helps normalize the contrast of the pixels. This is why several devices with this technology "flash" the entire screen white and black when loading a new image, in order to prevent ghosting from happening.

part 2: solar cars innovation

SHORTCOMINGS:

1)    Solar cars have several similarities to the every day car. They have a motor, wheels, seats, steering wheel, brakes and more. Also, they require some kind of fuel and in this case, it the sun, which is why it called the solar car.So The solar car cannot operate for a long period of time at night. Also, during a cloudy day, the speed must be reduced considerably for a long distance.

2)   So why are there no solar cars on the road? Well actually there are; once every second year. There are 2 popular races in the world. One, called the American Solar Challenge, happens between Chicago and Palm Springs and is approximately 2200km. The World Solar Challenge is the second race and is held in Australia. This race is 3000km. At the World Solar Challenge, the first group to have an average speed of 100km/h during the whole race wins one million dollars. During those races, the solar cars share the roads with the regular traffic.

3)   Much work remains to be done before a average person can drive a solar car to work. The cost of materials must be reduced and more research is needed to improve the performance of solar cells and batteries. By promoting research and educating people on zero emission vehicles, soon, we will be driving this fantasy car.

SOLAR CARS

INTRODUCTION:
Solar Powered Cars traditional are defined as cars which run on energy from the sun. They got their first recognition as a possible transportation method through the series of annual races across Australia.
This definition however is changing, in recent years of the green movement, solar power explosion now allows people to charge plugin electric vehicles (PEVs) through solar panels installed on their homes and in recent history solar panels installed on the roof of the car itself.
There is a very bright future for solar energy to power our transportation needs and we're just scratching the surface of the possibility.

EFFECTS:

1)     1)  Solar cars does not require expensive fuel, is quiet and very low maintenance, has certainly been
around, but has been more of a fantasy.

 2)   Solar cars produces no harmful emission in the air when it running. The conversion of the sun energy      into electricity is done through the exchange of photons and electrons inside the solar cell. Since the sun is available to everyone at all times during the day, and at no cost, the solar car does not require any refueling and oil changes. This means that on a nice sunny day, you can drive non-stop all day. The electric motor is much more efficient and quiet than the gasoline engine. There are usually no vibrations produced by the motor and the motor is generally smaller and maintenance free. The car is also much lighter.

ironing wardrobe: convenient innovation

Steam wardrobe

Nowadays, in this modern and busy life, we need everything faster and easier.
This stem wardrobe is creating for the busy people to give them convenience to manage their cloth.

Concept:
The concept is like a sauna room. This wardrobe is heat up with a specific temperature by the heater. People can control the temperature whether to iron or just to ‘steam’ the cloth with the pleasant smell. They also can switch off the heater if they finish. By hanging their cloths in this wardrobe, their cloth will ironed and smell good just in a few minutes.

Advantages:
1) Save time and energy.
2) This wardrobe is protected as a germ/parasite killing. So the cloth become more hygiene.
3) Save electric. People can switch on or switch off it after their cloth is ironed.
4) Save space because it is 3 in 1. (hanging, ironing and fragrance)

Disadvantage:
Not found.

The End: The Metromorph

People will be interested to buy?

WHY?

Picture this: You walk into this hub hanging out of your high apartment and then it gently glides down to the ground level. Touch ground and it transforms into this ultimate car that looks and feels SEXY!

BUT...

There are still problems that will occur due to this invention. People may not accept this cool unique concept.

  • The car's capacity itself shows the weakness of this car. Only two seats are available and people will argue what if they need more cars? But the building could only fit one car each house.

  • People may wonder about the safety features of this car. There are many things need to be worked out.

  • It would be quite expensive car with all those features. There are a lot to invest if people wanted to buy this futuristic car. They might not willing to pay for such a high price for this great car.

  • People may question about the battery-powered electric vehicle. What if the battery dies and run out of gas or the vehicle is otherwise rendered non-operable while climbing the building?

However, I really believe that the car would be successful in 10 years time if they really work on it!

Part 2: The Metromorph

The floor-pan is a full size door for the extension of the apartment, while the transparent roof can be opened as a window.

Do you know that it can be transformed into a balcony?
So,you can save up the parking space and also your precious time. You wouldn't have to think about paying your parking fees monthly anymore.

Hey,look! You can immediately enter the house by just parking the car!

The Metromorph also helps to transport you through the city with ease. This battery-powered electric vehicle  arms can come quite handy when it comes to parking in a squeezed space. Not like today's car doors, you wont worry anymore to park in a cramped area.

These special features make people eager to have one and interested to buy.

Swirl Laundry Making Washing Clothes - PART 2

Technology is critical for human development and progress. There are several point on how this laundry will be integrated into society and the effect that it will has on our culture. It includes:
  • This laundry eliminates the need of carrying water from distant supply areas and carrying heavy laundry to and from the source of water.
  • Save electrical energy
  • This playful concept can not only provide a convenient and functional washing alternative, but also will help enhancing the social and cultural relationship between women

Ethical issues in technologies are usually identified when a technology has already been developed. Many emerging technologies present ethical challenges. Therefore, people must have a better understanding of ethical issues as future technologies emerge can be beneficial to influencing the design and eventual implementation of future technologies. The awareness of ethical issues as future technologies are being developed is equally important because developers become alert and sensitive to users needs not only as they plan the technologies but also during the process of development right up to implementation. Such awareness has the potential to avoid or lessen major ethical pitfalls when a technology is fully developed and in operation.

benefits from electrical cactus

Part 2 : electrical cactus

What are the benefits when using cactus as one of the sources of energy in the future? There are a few benefits that people might consume from it. Cactus is one of renewable energy resources that can provide many immediate environmental benefits.

When we talk about benefit especially in culture for cactus as source of electricity, people will learn how to use electricity wisely and re-think about electricity is something that needs to be saved for the next generation.

Another benefit for the culture is that people will learn to adjust green living culture how to keep environment clean and reduce global warming step by step. As we know, carbon dioxide (CO2) is the most important of the greenhouse gasses, which contributed to global warming. Thus, by using this innovation, this problem might be overcome.

At the same time, we can reduce pollution – water, land, and thermal pollution.
Energy production and use also give impacts on water and land. Land and water damage can occur throughout the life cycle of fossil fuels.

Besides that, fossil fuels produce heat energy when burned – used to generate electricity. However, when we use cactus as the sources of energy, this problem might be avoid because cactus is one of the renewable energy. Thus, it’s cannot emit harmful effects to the environment.

As conclusion, when we used cactus as the sources of energy in the future, there’s a lot of benefits not only for people but also to the environment. Thus, I think government should consider with such this innovation.

part 2: hydrogen new innovation for electrical

 example: SunLine Transit Agency
enclosure for electrolysis for producing hydrogen

How the it work?
With a rated power output of 150W (200W peak) the light will provide many hours of safe, low-voltage power between refills. Run time with a 100W load is 30 hours per hydrogen cylinder. So when the hydrogen cylinder is empty, people can refill it. so,it  will produce electricity as long as fuel (hydrogen) is supplied, never losing its charge.

hydrogen refill tanks

Where and how can we use hydrogen ?
Hydrogen has many potential energy used including powering non-polluting vehicles(already have), heating homes and offices and fueling aircraft. Home generators and large electrical generating system represent emerging stationary applications. However, widespread use will require new means to distribute hydrogen from the producer to the user, fueling stations and many other new technologies, concepts and support facilities.

Car Elevator: The Metromorph

MORE THAN A CAR?

  • alternative energy vehicles?
  • alternative impulsion systems?
  • entirely alien configurations for the interiors of the vehicles?

This futuristic Peugeot concept from Roman Mistiuk combines all of those changes into one radically different concept. It’s a car, but it’s also an extension of an urban apartment home. Cool huh?

When the driver arrives at his apartment building, the car can detect the apartment using the track system by transforming into a vertical elevator that takes the driver straight to the appropriate level of the building.

The Metromorph has an all-electric power-train and a seating capacity of two passengers. The seats are held by rotating arms so they stay vertical regardless of the vehicle's orientation.

lamp from hydrogen fuel

light from hydrogen fuel can provide low energy lighting and fuel cell power..

hydrogen could join electricity as an important energy carrier. An energy carrier moves and delivers energy in a usable form to consumer. renewable energy sources, like sun and wind can not produce energy all the time. but hydrogen could..

How to get hydrogen gas?

When H2 + O2 are supplied, the fuel cell makes electricity. We can get hydrogen from:

              1) WATER
Energy are use to break water apart, through a process called electrolysis. Hydrogen released from water by electrolysis can be captured and used as fuel. After it is collected, it is either compressed into a high-pressure gas or cooled into a liquid.

              2) HYDROCARBON FUELS
Example: natural gas CH4, Methanol CH30H, Gasoline C8H18 and Ethanol C2H50H. These fuel can be processed or reformed to extract the hydrogen.

The Electric Cactus

Can a cactus generate electricity? Why cactus? Why not other plants? How can we know it?
What are the benefits people will consume from having such this innovation?

This entire question might be in your head. I will share a little bit information with you.

As we know, photosynthesis is the process by which plants convert solar energy into chemical energy. In the presence of visible light, carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H20) are transformed into glucose and O2 .
Fortunately, we can use the products of photosynthesis which are glucose and O2 in making biofuel cell. What can biofuel cell do? Actually, the biofuel cell can generate power of electricity.
This has been tested, when the cell was inserted in a cactus leaf, it could generate power of 9 μW per cm2. Means that, every cm of cactus leaf could generate 9 μW of power. However, the power is depends on the surface area of the cactus. As large the size of cactus, as much as the power will produce.

Besides that, the electrical current produced by the biofuel cell increased when a desk lamp is turned on. There is more light energy for the photosynthesis. But when the lamp is switched off, the current went down. What does it mean? Means that, the electrical current will increased when there is more light.

People might wonder why use cactus? This is because, cactus can live in the extreme with a little water and higher proportional of light intensity. Thus, because of it, a stronger illumination accelerated the production of glucose and O2 (photosynthesis), so more fuel was available to operate the cell.

Hopefully you get the concept of cactus electricity. As I mentioned earlier, the product of photosynthesis will produce biofeul cell that will generate power of electricity.
